60 character SEO myth

If you're a local business owner and dug deep enough into SEO for your Google Business Profile or even just website SEO in general, you've probably come across some sort of info about making sure the title of your website is MAX 60 characters.

Now I'm not sure when this came about, and truthfully I didn't check but I know the truth regarding this right now as I write this.

It's a myth. False. A lie.

Now I may have an understanding as to where this came from though, because a truth that's seperate to this is that around the 60 characters mark of your website title it starts truncating/cutting off in the search results.

Which, in theory, makes this even better and what Google is basically saying with this is: Hey, after 60 characters of your title tag, ABSOLUTELY BLAST IT with keywords

I highly doubt they actually said this, but I hope you get me.

So your title could look like: BEST Electrician Sunshine Coast - If you're looking for Electrician near me or even Electrician Sunshine Coast - [enter business name] is the place to call

But it may just show as: BEST Electrician Sunshine Coast - If you're looking for Elec…

So unless they go into the code/page source, you're good.

So inject your title tag with all sorts of things, I would say to get to 200ish characters.
